Contract Type
Full Time
Our client, one of London’s leading Structural Engineering consultancies who have vast experience in refurbishment projects, which include commercial as well as residential buildings is currently seeking a graduate engineer to compliment their team, and are ideally looking for a Graduate Engineer with ideally 2-5 years experience working for a similar Engineering Consultancy.

First preference would be for Engineers who have worked on UK projects (and they are therefore familiar with UK building regulations etc.) and even more ideal would be to have this experience gained in London.

Candidates will have shown a steady work history (i.e. wouldn’t be looking for someone with 3 jobs in 3 years)

At the more Junior end of this level of search we are looking for someone with only 1 job, and looking to take that step to a company that can offer a better scope to help the candidate look at Chartership. At this stage temp work will not be so much of an issue. As you go up the levels of experience we still want a go getting attitude, added to looking for candidate to start supporting the Associate

Required Experience/Skills

Candidates must have achieved at least a BEng 2:1, or better, in Civil Engineering (or something closely related). They require someone with a keen interest and/or knowledge in most of the following areas of work:

* Detailed design of reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry and timber building structures

* Design of glass structures

* Structural steelwork connection design and detailing

* Temporary works design

* Letter and report writing

* Site inspection and surveys

* Production of drawings and sketches

Our client has 2 x ISTRUCTE Examiners in the office, and are in a great position to assist with the Chartership process, and will assist all Engineers in their pursuit of this goal. With training/seminars etc, if an Engineer has the capability to get Chartered then this will be achieved via the company.

Staff benefits

25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), Contributory Pension (5% employee, 5% Company), Private Medical Insurance, Income Protection, Life Insurance, Accident Insurance, Employee Assistance Programme, ‘Bike to work’ scheme, Childcare vouchers, Season Ticket Loans and Professional subscriptions
