Holden Jones is exclusively recruiting for this international business, operating within the FMCG sector, for this six months fixed term contract. They are an employer of choice and have a fantastic reputation for employee engagement. As they undergo the final stages of implementing SAP they require an experienced individual to act as support for a number of key areas within the finance function. Responsibilities will include the following:

- Prepares standard journals on a monthly basis for responsible markets.
- Ensures financial control of entity balance sheets through regular financial reconciliation, preparation and review which includes complex balance sheet reconciliations for markets of responsibility on a monthly basis.
- Cash maintenance – review bank account balances on a regular basis and recommend next steps to Financial Controller.
- Prepares inter-company re-bill information.
- Prepares inter-company account reconciliation between Europe and US office.
- Reviews market performance against plan forecast and current expectations.
- Analyses driving variations to budget, understands markets promotions and drivers that increase/decrease gross margin.
- Participates in the review of department heads and Country Manager’s overhead budgets with the Regional Accountants; prepares analysis to enable management decision making and supporting that decision making through one to one support.
- Provide timely and accurate information to assist the business with decision making, within a tight reporting timetable for smaller markets of responsibility.
- Ensures VAT compliance across markets of responsibility and returns are completed within the relevant timeframe.
- Prepares other statutory returns as required (e.g. branch financial statements, recycling returns).
- Participates with compliant/authority inspections (VAT, corporate tax) for area of responsibility.
- Backup for AP when needed.

- Supports Financial Controller in ad-hoc projects of a complex nature, country specific.

You will already have a strong accounting background developed within an international environment. You will probably have completed some professional studies (CIMA/ACCA/AAT) although this is not essential. Key skills will be very strong communication and inter-personal abilities along with a committed team ethic. You must demonstrate the ability to prioritise and deliver to strict deadlines. You will have strong Excel skills and prior exposure to SAP and J D Edwards is an advantage. You must be available to start this role immediately
