Infrastructure Engineer
Up to £30,000 p/a + company benefits

Due to business growth, my client based in Cardiff, are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to offer 3rd line IT support, log incidents and changes, provide support through assisting in the implementation of infrastructure projects.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining infrastructure services, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise. The services include the production and non-production environment.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, your main responsibilities are as follows:
* Assist in the delivery of infrastructure projects
* Advise and influence future IT Roadmap
* Work as part of the IT Infrastructure team to provide support of group servers and services ensuring their security and availability
* Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues on the server estate
* Resolve service incidents to meet the required Service Level Agreement
* Proactive monitoring of systems to ensure availability, reliability, performance and utilisation
* Develop documentation to support current and new systems

The ideal Infrastructure Engineer will possess some, if not all, of the following attributes:
* Server hardware and operating systems, Server 2008R2-2016
* VMware ESXi.
* Windows failover clustering.
* Storage hardware and associated management tools. Dell, Pure, NetApp Storage
* Implementation and support of LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers and firewalls
* Administration and support of Microsoft Exchange 2010 & 2016.
* Datacentre maintenance, including scheduled checks of the data centre environment.
* Administration of backups and restoration
