We are actively sourcing an experienced BMS Design Engineer on behalf of our client who is based in Slough. The successful applicant should ideally reside in the Berkshire region, as this role would predominately be an office based role. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an establish organisation who is innovative, forward thinking and expert provider of Building Energy Management Solutions.

Purpose of role:
To design and engineer a number of concurrent projects, to support the Project Engineers, Project Managers and Lead Engineers.

To prove pre-sales technical support and initial design concepts/equipment selections to the BD Team to assist with commercial tender/quotation preparation.

Produce initial design concepts, point schedules and equipment selections for the BD Team on medium to larger or complex project quotations/tenders

Produce and submit technical submittal including description of operation, schedules, selection of equipment to meet project specification, internal standards, project quotation, customer approval and maximise margin.

Gather and distribute technical information to project team and customers to ensure all engineering can be completed on time and efficiently

Fully document project and file accordingly for post project reviews.
Generate RFIs and identify potential variations.

Manage version control, storage and distribution of all project documentation.

Assist with detailed post completion review of projects.

Identify and communicate enhancements and improvements to technical standards

Commercial requirements:

Ensure designs are commercially sound and maximise profit margins, considering equipment, engineering and installation costs when designing technical solutions.

Other duties as may be required consistent with the responsibilities of the post.

Teamwork: Proactively shares knowledge and supports team members through understanding roles, responsibilities and the importance of effective processes •

Experience & Qualifications:
5 years’ experience in a technical position within the BMS industry.
In depth knowledge of building services and controls architecture and design.
Detailed knowledge of Trend and Tridium products.
The ability to write complex control strategies and produce graphic pages is desirable.
