Position Title: Management Accountant
Department: UK Finance
Location: Old Bailey, London


Position reports to: Finance Business Partner


POSITION PURPOSE

This position is initially a 3-4 month contract with the focus being on preparing and reviewing the monthly management accounts, providing support to the FBP’s and providing key financial data/analysis to senior stakeholders.



POSITION OBJECTIVES


- Review and complete management accounts prepared by outsourced finance team in India.

- To provide analytical and commercial support to a company Division and to play an integral part in improving Divisional profitability.

- Provide weekly Sales and Margin analysis to the division management team, and the recruitment consultants as well as dealing with any queries that may arise.

- Calculation of all Divisional commissions and bonuses for approval by the Divisional Director.
- Preparation of monthly divisional reporting packs and any additional information required for monthly board meetings
- Other ad hoc requirements as requested by senior team members.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial management & awareness:

- Take ownership of the divisional management accounts.
- Provide senior finance team with divisional performance analysis and commentary on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Preparation of Trust/Framework spend reports and month end accruals.
- Control of statistical data and KPIs for the Divisions.
- Operational processes:
-

- Provide meaningful commercial / strategic data to Division Heads in order to support business decisions.

- Assist with the resolution of Credit Control, Payroll and Accounts Payable issues within the Division.
- Review of all divisional costs and ledgers..



People management & teamwork:

- Work with outsourced team in India and manage this teams input into the specific division.
- Work with senior divisional staff members to provide effective and insightful support.
- Work with other finance team members to cover their duties during holidays and other absence.
- Work with the senior finance team in order to meet group deadlines and requirements.





KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Financial management & awareness:

- Identify any cost savings and efficiencies with the division.


Operational processes:

- Complete monthly management results on a specific day post month end.
- Complete weekly figures every Monday and report back to divisional heads and senior finance team members.


Client management & engagement (internal & external stakeholders):

- Attend monthly management meetings with senior staff in finance and the trading divisions.
- Provide the CFO with timely information as required.




TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications:

- Part Qualified or studying towards CIMA / ACCA / ACA


Skills:

- Clear understanding of all aspects of management accounting
- Highly motivated and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to multi task is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate initiative
- Highly IT literate with advanced Excel skills
- Highly numerate
- Strong attention to detail



Experience:

- One-two years accounting and/or analysis experience.
- Recruitment industry and/or multi site experience would be advantageous. This also includes willingness to travel to other HCRG bases of operations.
