GIS Data Manager
GIS Data Manager Brief Overview We are currently recruiting for our existing client in Gloucestershire. This is a full-time role which will provide delivery and management of a number of GIS and Data management skills, on a range of projects to both internal and external clients across our key business areas. Responsibilities include: Management of the GIS team including the integration of GIS mapping with Data systems. Data capture, management, analysis and validation Data conversion and integration. Map production for Land Referencing products including the production of land plans and book of reference. Development and implementation of methodologies for creation and use of spatial data, including digitizing, editing, coding, and annotating line, point and polygon data. Creation of Land Registry compliant Easement, Consent and Wayleave drawings. Creation of landowner plans for attachment to referencing forms. Design and build spatial and non-spatial databases. Meeting with internal clients to determine GIS requirements. Provision of GIS skills to promote and assist other property services throughout the firm. The role will develop and manage the work flows and business procedures for the use of GIS within the firm in addition to the technical skills. Person Specification The position will require an ability to manage time and GIS projects effectively and work in a pressurised environment. You should be innovative and creative with strong interpersonal communication skills, and be comfortable managing others within the skill group as well as working independently. Qualifications: A degree qualification in GIS or a related field. MSc would be desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate would have two or more year's commercial experience managing in a similar role and be able to provide demonstrable experience of GIS, data management, technical consultancy and the delivery of tasks to time, accuracy, quality whilst meeting cost objectives. Essential Criteria: Proven management experience within the sector. A high level of competence using the ESRI ArcGIS product suite, including its extensions. Experience of databases including SQL server and the interaction with GIS software. A sound understanding of spatial data structures and fundamental concepts of GIS. Spatial database design and management, preferably with ESRI geodatabases. Ability to liaise with internal and external clients to promote and deliver high quality GIS input into their projects. Able to work on their own and with the wider project team based in multiple locations. Experience using Model Builder and creating custom scripts in Python. Experience with Ordnance Survey and Land Registry products. Proficient in the delivery of allocated project tasks, to quality, time and budget requirements. Have good problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Attention to detail. Be adaptable and flexible. A desire to innovate, looking for new ways of doing things differently. Excellent time management. Ability to deal with pressure. Ability to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team. Clean full driving licence. Desirable Criteria: Experience of working with environment, planning and engineering related datasets. Experience with working and controlling a large number of evolving datasets. Experience in SQL server or similar systems. Experience administering and customising Web GIS applications using ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS Online. Database design.
