Electrical Maintenance Technician, Scunthorpe DN15, Permanent Position, NO WEEKENDS

Aqumen Recruitment are currently recruiting electrically biased Maintenance Engineers on a permanent basis for our client on Scunthorpe DN15

Maintenance Technician

• Rate of pay £15.70 per hour (£32656 per annum)

• Plus 5% shift allowance (£1632.80 per annum)

• Average of 40 hours per week

• Varied 12 hour shifts as follows:

o Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6am to 6pm, Thursday, Friday off

o Week 2 – Monday, Tuesday off, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 6pm to 6am

o Week 3 – Monday, Tuesday 6am to 6pm, Wednesday off, Thursday, Friday 6pm to 6am

• May be required to work overtime which could be during the week or at weekends

• A 10 minute handover before each shift is required, this is paid

• Demonstrable experience as a Maintenance Engineer/Technician in a manufacturing environment is essential

Scope of the Role:

· A multi-skilled position working as part of the maintenance team responding to the high demands of the site in terms of general, routine and unplanned maintenance of the plant, equipment and facilities. Rapid response and rectification of problems is critical to ensure that targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure adherence to all the relevant Health & Safety procedures, being proactive in the raising of potential H&S issues.

· Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company policies and procedures.

· Supporting production requirements working on a range of injection moulding machines ranging from 60 to 3000 tonnes, for repairs and problem fault finding.

· Adjustments, set-up, maintenance of laser cells, PU cells, assembly and checking automation cells.

· Undertake planned service work as requested, supporting the plant start-up and shutdown procedure on a weekend rota.

· Installation work and continuous improvement duties around the site is also an important function of this role.

Generic Success Measures:

· To ensure rapid response to production breakdowns

· Assisting with project and service work when there are no production issues

· Housekeeping standards are met during and following all work

· Be proactive in the identification of any spares required

· Completing mandatory safety checks on allocated machines.

Person Specification:


· City & Guilds 214 Mechanical Engineering / HNC / ONC electrical and mechanical engineering or equivalent.

· NVQ 3 Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

· Time served apprenticeship within a production / manufacturing environment

· Good mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical knowledge with ability to read diagrams and drawings.

· Experience of working with automation and assembly equipment

· Working knowledge H&S requirements in an engineering environment

· Able to work to tight timeframes and continue to perform at a high standard under pressure

· Self-motivated with a desire for self-improvement

· Able to work successfully within a team and under own initiative

· Ability to find faults and problem solve

Desirable / Optional

· 17th Edition Electrical Installations

· 6 and 3 axis robot experience

· Working knowledge of Lean Engineering and CI techniques

· Working knowledge of Plastic Injection Moulding machinery
