Development Manager .Net - Agile - £400pd - Hands On

Reporting to CTO My client is looking for a Deeveloipment Manager to asssit the CTO by managing the development team ensuring that the software is delivered on time and on budget. Specific Responsibilities of the Job Tracking of software releases:

* Daily tracking of software progress against timeline and budget

* Daily monitoring and removal of team barriers to progress

* Informal daily reporting of progress to CTO

* Formal weekly reporting of progress to CTO

* Immediate reporting of issues to CTO, alongside with some mitigating actions Insuring best in class software development:

* Promote development best practices

* Ensure the use of an Agile process

* Promote YAGNI (You Ain't Gonna Need It) Insuring development and testing activities follow agreed process:

* Make sure to understand the development process

* Insure the team follows the process during development, support and testing activities Insuring software quality:

* Perform code review of all code changes

* Insure the level of unit testing coverage is enforced

* Identify areas of technical weakness for the team

* Work with the CTO and team lead to find ways to upskill the team Advising the CTO on software development:

* Raise areas of poor quality and provide clear solutions to address them

* Agree with the CTO a process to report software development issues

* Regularly report software development issues following the agreed process Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



* Proven experience in delivering quality software

* Past development experience in C# or similar OO language

* Ability to review code and understand it

* Ability to manage and grow a development team

* Good communication skills both verbal and writing in English

* Demonstrate a good understanding of the full SDLC and typical delivery challenges

* Very good understanding of multi-threading development

* Demonstrate an excellent understanding of project estimation, tracking and steering techniques

* Demonstrate a good understanding of modern development techniques (SOLID principle, usual design patterns, etc…)

* Excellent understanding of the Agile process
