We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can excel within a customer centric and agile environment to drive greater value in building top class software!As one of our Senior UI SME’s you’ll be contributing to conveying exceptional UI standards across a department of c200 business technology colleagues and across a portfolio of several regulatory and commercial delivery teams. As a UI Senior Software Engineer your role will directly impact the digital delivery – proactively motivating fellow team members with the team to ensure that the task has adequate acceptance criteria and keep up to date with good practices/industry standards & latest releases. You’ll be able to take a lead in the technology delivery process and be accountable for, and responsive to, any problems arising from changes during the promotion through the environments to the production systems. What will it take to be successful as a Senior Software Engineer -UI? We’re looking for a motivated team player who can take ownership of their activities within a small, niche and in demand UI team to deliver high class solutions. The size of the team will allow you to exercise your subject matter expertise to guide and build on our development teams’ progress. You’ll support in adding, amending, maintaining key features and developing prototypes to support
Technical attributes:•Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor other members of the team•Write and contribute to the improvement of code standards documentation and processes.•Ability to create high quality UI solutions using core languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).•Demonstrable experience of using RESTful APIs, Ajax and JSON•Advanced CSS (inc. Animation) / Sass preprocessor.•Understanding of CSS methodologies (e.g. SMACSS, ITCSS and BEM) and their role in creating modular scalable CSS architecture.•Demonstrable experience of commonly used open source frameworks (e.g. JQuery, Bootstrap)•Demonstrable experience of NodeJS (npm ecosystem) and Gulp.•JavaScript (ECMAScript) ES2015/ES2016 (Advantageous).•Production of graphical assets and optimisation techniques.•Understanding of SEO techniques and influence on search engine rankings.•Understanding of Web Accessibility techniques.•Understanding of Responsive Web Design techniques.•Understanding of Visual Design principles.•Understanding of UX Design principles.•Self-motivated, Enthusiastic and passionate about technology.•You’ll be a team player with the ability to demonstrate creativity & Imagination
