GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding Geography Teacher to join a friendly and dynamic Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' school. This is a permanent teaching position starting from January 2018.

The role is at a high achieving, over-subscribed and successful mixed comprehensive school for pupils aged 11 to 18 located in the London borough of Redbridge. The school believes in setting the highest levels of academic targets and reaching these. Its success is based on a culture of high expectations and aspirations, and excellent standards of teaching. This is a High Performing (LEPP) school which builds on its previous specialist status as a Technology College, Training School and Language College. The school has been commended for its results at GCSE which put it in the top 100 secondary schools.

The school seeks to appoint a talented and dynamic Geography teacher to work within the hugely supportive and successful Humanities Department. Students in this school follow the AQA syllabus at GCSE and at A-level.

As such, the school is looking for a Geography Teacher who is dynamic in the classroom with the ability to differentiate the learning material to a range of ability levels. The successful candidate should be able to plan and teach Geography to KS3 & KS4 students.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to a DBS enhanced disclosure check.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Geography teacher (ideally with PGCE, GTP, B'ed, Cert Ed, BA with QTS).
- Demonstrate recent experience as Geography teacher (this could include PGCE placement schools)
- Have up to date curriculum knowledge - especially within Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Be proven to raise and maintain attainment levels, keeping standards high.
- Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent behaviour management strategies.
