2nd/3rd Technical Engineer (3rd Line, Windows, Citrix, VMWare, Hyper-V, Wintel, AD, Active Directory, Exchange, Storage, SAN, Server, Networks, LAN, WiFi, Backup, Recovery, Anti Virus, Group Policy Firewall, Routing, Switching , LAN/WAN) - Permanent - Hull

Search IT are currently looking for a 2nd/3rd Line Technical Engineer on a permanent basis for our growing client based in Hull.

Responsibilities for 2nd/3rd Technical Engineer:
* To help drive an ever improving IT service for end users, developing an understanding of the business and creating strong working relationships with the management team.
* To be a key source of technical expertise, up skilling other team members and sharing knowledge within IT and the business.
* Acting as an escalation of any technical issues that cannot be dealt with by 2nd line support teams to required timescales and quality.
* Support external departments and clients by providing onsite technical support, processing all queries received and ensuring these jobs are completed within the required timescale.
* Answer telephone calls received during busy time periods, and ensure all calls are logged accordingly, and a first time fix is attempted. Taking a hands-on approach to resolving any queries raised.
* Undertake support, request and fault work as required.
* To provide technical input into Change Management processes ensuring changes are in line with the overall technical solution and meet business requirements and strategic direction.
* Ensure system documentation is up to date and accurate.
* Understand and comply with client requirements, adding value at each opportunity.
* Provide support to the business outside of normal working hours, as part of formal out-of-hours support rota.
* To work as part of a team, supporting other team members and covering during periods of absence as required.

Skills/Requirements for the 2nd/3rd Line Technical Engineer:
* Previous experience within a similar 3rd support Line role
* Windows Server 2012 R2 experience
* Experience of virtualisation tech such as Hyper-V, VMware or Citrix
* Strong Active Directory skills
* Strong experience with Group Policy
* Strong with Fault Finding and Recovery Procedures
* previous Experience of using SAN Storage
* Experience of working on networks - LAN/WAN, Switching, Routing, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN switches, WiFi
* Experience working with Firewalls
* experience of Ms Exchange 2012
* Experience with Server backup and recovery systems

Start date is ASAP

The Technical Engineer will provide end user service support covering first, second and third line technical issues raised by the business. You will be involved in maintaining and improving IT service by working closely with the 1st and 2nd line analysts and the IT Helpdesk, helping to monitor IT systems. You will also provide day-to-day support, assisting in the evaluation and installation of desktop software and hardware technology.
