An opportunity has arisen for a Magento savvy Web Developer to work within the Ecommerce department of fashion retailer that's been in business for over 50 years.

The role

The Ecommerce Web Developer is a key hire for this retailer, as the eccomerce function is in his relatively early stages and is going from strength to strength. With over a 50 years of heritage, this proud, independent, British business operating under a number of established brands, has recently expanded its ecommerce activities and is now looking to develop this area of the business substantially over the coming years. They have successfully hit ambitious targets over the last few years and have every confidence that this pattern will continue. You'll be responsible for driving the development of the websites and related systems. As the role develops, there will be the opportunity to build and grow a successful development team around you.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who wants more than a 9 to 5 Web Development role. You'll work with the Head of Ecommerce to drive the Ecommerce function to the next level. On the technical side, you'll have excellent understanding of developing Ecommerce websites on Magento 1.x and 2.x, Experience of developing custom Magento components, working with third party themes and extensions, Excellent knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and related software, Solid understanding of UX and responsive web design, Proven working knowledge of setting up and optimising LAMP environments, Thorough understanding of Ecommerce website development processes including requirements gathering, feature prioritisation, task prioritisation, source code management, automated unit and functional testing, Git version control, Experience with Microsoft NAV would be beneficial.

The company are open to seeing applications from Web Developers who don't quite have this level of experience as yet but are willing to undertake training. The salary on offer will be adjusted accordingly.
