About the company

My client, a leading manufacturer within the UK are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their business in Luton. Massive on research and development, my client stays ahead of the competition by constantly developing their production lines ensuring their product is lighter, cheaper and more durable than their closest rival. My client is also able to complete high volume orders 5 weeks faster than their competitors, meaning their order books are full. Due to change in the business, my client is going through a significant growth plan, 2017 being the first year of 3 that they grew. This growth will include massive investment in the plant, already £2 million spent this year, fully automating the equipment and see the maintenance team double.

About the role

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for completing planned preventive maintenance and reacting to breakdowns with the aim to keep machine downtime to a minimum. You will be responsible for using traditional fault-finding techniques to determine both electrical and mechanical faults, however there will also be an aspect of completing root cause analysis. You will be responsible for working on flow wrapping machines, blow film extruder's, flexographic printing, conveyors plus more.

About you

Ideally you will hold a level 3 qualification and/or a city and guilds 17th Edition. It would be beneficial for you to have experience completing preventive maintenance on automated equipment and also working in a reactive nature. You must be comfortable fault finding & checking I/O's on Siemens PLC system.

It will be advantageous to also have the following;

  • Experience completing root cause analysis.
  • Experience plugging into the PLC system, changing parameters, sensors, timers etc.
  • Fabrication experience.
  • Wanting to progress into a senior role within the next 3-5 years.
