Commercial and Technology Disputes Associate/ Senior Associate
London City
Leading IP firm

The Firm
My client is particularly well-known for its representation of clients with significant IP and technology assets, such as clients in the Life Sciences and Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) sectors. As a full-service firm, it is able to serve all the legal needs of such companies. The firm's biggest practice area is its world-renowned IP practice - the largest IP practice in Europe - where a large proportion of lawyers have science and engineering degrees. Historically, the IP practice was focused on IP Litigation (for which the firm is consistently ranked in the top band by the legal directories), and that remains an extremely successful and remunerative core practice area. Over recent years, the firm has committed itself to a strategy of preserving but also carefully expanding beyond this core practice area by developing, in particular, its transactional areas. This strategy of growing the practice around a worldclass IP brand is delivering tangible results: the client base and the partnership have expanded and revenues and profits have increased. But it is, more than anything else, the people, their specialist skills, the firm's culture and its stellar client base that make the firm truly special and in a class of its own amongst London firms.

The Role
Commercial litigation work that covers
IT outsourcing and project disputes
IP licence disputes
Contractual copyright disputes
Confidentiality disputes
Digital media disputes
Financial services disputes
Corporate disputes

The candidates must demonstrate experience of:
* Commercial litigation with a strong emphasis on commercial contracts (for example, shipping, insurance, financial services, construction and IT);
* Working on a wide range of matters, for range of clients - evidence of being consistently busy;
* A good grounding in contract law and litigation. Although it would be useful for the candidates to have experience in IT, copyright or confidentiality, this experience is not a pre-requisite for the role: we would expect to provide training to enable the candidate to participate in more specialist work.

If you would like to apply, please apply as directed.
