Are you an experienced science communicator who can motivate donors to support breast cancer research? We’re Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity – and we’re dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease. We believe that if we all act now, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live, and live well. The role This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with fundraising colleagues to raise vital funds to speed up our progress against breast cancer. Right now, breast cancer is at a tipping point. More women are surviving. But more are being diagnosed than ever before. One in eight women in the UK will face breast cancer in their lifetime. And every 45 minutes, another woman dies from the disease. We are going to change that, and this role will bring our research to life in creative and compelling ways and deliver the information and content that inspires high-value donors to support Breast Cancer Now. Working alongside our Research Communications team, you will deliver inspiring and original content across our mass engagement communications channels including our website, social media and e-newsletters, to raise the profile of our world-leading research taking place across the UK and Ireland. As a media spokesperson for Breast Cancer Now, you’ll also ensure the charity’s expert voice is heard in response to breaking news stories. About you You will need a degree in a relevant scientific discipline and a sound understanding of breast cancer, or cancer, and medical research processes. An excellent communicator, you will demonstrate experience of translating complex scientific information for a range of audiences, including producing in-depth written information for high-value donors. You will be able to work effectively in a busy team and manage the flow of requests from fundraising colleagues across the organisation, building productive relationships with our community of researchers across the UK and Ireland.
