It originates in the bone marrow and currently affects around 17,500 people in the UK. Whilst treatable, myeloma is not yet curable. Our ultimate goal is to find a cure. We are dedicated to ensuring that patients get access to the right treatment at the right time, and to improving standards of treatment and care through research, education and awareness raising. We also provide a range of information and support services to patients, family and friends to help deal with a diagnosis of myeloma. About the role As Head of Campaigns, Events and Community Fundraising within the Income Generation team, you will manage a strategic programme of flagship fundraising events and activity, to maximise income and engagement, leading and motivating the team to deliver against targets. You will also work with the Director of Income Generation on the development of an ambitious new major national fundraising campaign for Myeloma UK. You will work with other senior team members on the development and implementation of the Income Generation Strategy, with specific responsibility for Campaigns, Events and Community Fundraising. You will represent Myeloma UK at a range of events and meetings at locations across the UK from time to time. About you This is a great opportunity to work for a national UK charity. You will need extensive and demonstrable experience within a senior fundraising/events management position and a proven track record in income generation from a range of fundraising products. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in managing multiple projects through all stages from planning and development through to evaluation and effective measurement of ROI against specific KPIs. You will be familiar with preparation, monitoring and reporting on budgets and targets. Excellent communication, relationship development and presentation skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to set priorities and work under pressure. You will have the ability and willingness to attend meetings and events outside normal working hours and travel as required. Applications close at 5.00 pm on 17 September 2018.
