Main Function of Job

A great opportunity to play a key role as production support engineer in a new best in class site reliability and continuous improvement practice. The successful candidate will have a broad range of experience within the SDLC, have a passion for leaning and not afraid to challenge the statusquo. Whilst technology will be your passion, equally important is a desire to achieve maximum customer satisfaction as this role is all about 100% right first time.

You will work closely with operations, development teams and the architecture group, within an openminded organisation who are investing heavily in success.

What you will be doing:

Implementing and designing CI and CD packages/pipelines to allow measurable improvements to deployment frequency, a faster time to market, and a lower failure rate of new releases
Designing and creating infrastructure as code and in the cloud (AWS & Azure)
Building and maintaining tools to automate application and infrastructure deployment, and to monitor operations
Coordinating with other members of the DevOps, Development, Test, and Product Owner teams to enhance and optimize existing processes
Creating deployment dashboards and intuitive UIs for tracking deployments
Owning the build and release process, and managing and tracking the progress of multiple releases in parallel for all environments
Configuring, standardizing and evolving the test environments so they are closer to production systems; troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and environment issues
Providing guidance & support to the Dev and QA teams as needed
Defining security good practices and implementing tools to enforce those practices.

Heres what were looking for:

Relevant engineering work experience
Experience with Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
Experience with Jenkins Pipeline and Jenkins Enterprise (Build and maintain highly available CI stack)
Proficiency with a typical DevOps stack such as GitHub, mavenNexus, Puppet, Splunk, ELK, Ansible and Docker
Proficiency with Cloud technologies
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++JavaScript
Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
Experience in mobile, web and cloudbased platform is desired
Forward thinking, executionorientated, and a team player
Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
Proven experience of automating and deploying software to production
Ability to find creative solution and implement them in a fast pace work environment
Excellent communications skills (articulate and polite)
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrate a calm manner and an ability to handle difficult situations
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

This would be a great opportunity for a senior sys admin/system engineer looking to make the step into a DevOps role.
