An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client is currently looking for an Assistant Technical Development Manager based at their prestigious facility at The TIGI Academy, Battersea. This is a full time temporary role for a period of12 months, working a 36.25 hour week. This role is paying up to a maximum of £30,875 per annum pro rata, depending on experience.

Background/General Purpose of Position:

Were currently on the hunt for an Assistant Technical Development Manager to join one of the most fast paced teams and to lead the product testing for TIGIs hair colour business. You will be part of the most cutting edge Brand Development team, based at TIGIs studio offices in Battersea and will be an important resource for putting the Hair Colourist at the forefront of our innovation. Hair Colour is one of TIGIs most strategic growth pillars and this role will play a part helping drive its successful development.

To succeed our new recruit will need to have a full and indepth understanding of hair colour products in order to carry out thorough and detailed product tests to facilitate key decisionmaking regarding TIGI hair colour product initiatives and enabling the creation of optimum knowledge on product performance to support salons in the servicing of their clients. You will need to have excellent organizational and problem solving skills. This is not an environment for the faint hearted or for those who love process; youll need to be able to cope with a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment, with big personalities and be flexible in the face of a constantly changing landscape.

This is a cutting edge hair team, which remains independent from Unilever, is based at TIGIs studio offices at Battersea. There will also be occasional guest visits to Unilever headquarters in Blackfriars London, Unilevers R&D offices in Port Sunlight UK, and international travel, to our manufacturing and development location in Bergamo Italy.

Expected Work

Global development responsivity
Supporting the department in executing all hair care product testing linked to colour to create services according to established protocols including, but not limited to, benchmark testing, intermediate evaluation of formula submission, existing product formula adjustments and
Ensuring all product testing stays on track and meets major testing deadlines
Development of colour and care education materials to support innovation launches and core communication for Copyright
Analysis and presentation of testing results/finding to the internal team marketing, R&D, education, sales teams and to our Copyright suppliers
Develop product usage education for new products based on testing outcomes
Gain knowledge of competitor brands through the use of their products and education process
Aid the Copyright Global Marketing team in ideation of new products, concept boarding, establish benchmarks and intermediate formula approval.
Organise and participate in International focus groups with Key Accounts, Education team, salons, prospects.. to establish insights and develop education/ development product strategies
Provide regular updates for internal stakeholders
Develop and maintain the Technical Testing Department data base for models
Maintain workspace, including ordering inventory and Atelier cleanliness
At all times promote general salon practice and respect Health & Safety best practice
Travel approximately 20% of the time.

This role can vary from working on existing product formats and shades, to introducing new product to the market

Task Horizon

TIGI operates in a fastpaced development model, where innovations are expected to launch after 9 18 months after being briefed.

Key Experience and Qualifications Required

Professional Hair Colourist
Experience working for another leading haircolour brand as a Technical Consultant or Educator
Exceptional eye for detail
Ability to analyze and read the shade performance of colour
Great communicator flexible communication style to discuss with all stakeholder levels Ability write reports and present findings of testing
Willing to remain flexible and work beyond key responsibilities
Appreciation for beauty/fashion/prestige brands
Have a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook to be able to write reports and prepare presentations
Good interpersonal skills
