We have an exciting new opening for an Occupational Therapist (band 5-6) to join one of the leading care companies in the UK. We are proud to announce that as an Occupational Therapist you will be working for a company which prides itself in providing the highest standards of care to all residents within their care Based at Specialist Services Head Office, the OT role is to co-ordinate the OT service across the 4 care homes. You will be supported by two OT Technicians (OTTs) in facilitating the group program within each home and across the services to provide groups according to the needs of the clients.

You will also provide weekly individual treatment and support to each young person, according to their individual needs and goals which will include adapting and grading interventions. You will provide baseline assessments, ongoing assessments, reports, and outcome measures. You will manage and supervise the OTTs, using our model of supervision. You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the OTTs to enable provision of an efficient and effective service across all the Homes


o To identify relevant care planning issues contributing to risk assessment, and devising realistic and appropriate treatment plans as part of the multidisciplinary team.

o To implement suitable occupational therapy interventions, according to the individual patients needs ensuring the patients involvement in all aspects of the occupational therapy process.

o To organise and run therapeutic groups, across service and for individual homes, and when appropriate co-run groups with other disciplines.

o To provide evidence - based protocol for each group intervention offered, and update on a regular basis.

o To maintain evaluation records of patients progress in the multidisciplinary continuing clinical record, and provide formal reports for Care Programme Approach meetings.
Professional and Training

To attend essential/updating training as required by Company standards.

To set personal and professional objectives with supervisor/line manager by contributing to an annual appraisal and in regular supervision sessions

To develop a continuing professional training and development folder. To include evidence of agreed courses attended evidence of updating knowledge of current developments in Mental Health particularly pertaining to the service client group. Maintain links with Professional Occupational Therapy bodies through journals, conferences and peer supervision.
