Working in partnership with CER, my client are one of the leading providers of early education and preschools along with employersponsored child care, backup care, educational advisory services and other work/life solutions.

I am currently looking for Nursery assistants/Nursery Nurse for adhoc cover weekly.


Job Purpose

The Nursery Nurse (NN) is a key carer for a specific group of children responsible for delivering exceptional care and education for children. The NN works within a team to ensure the nursery is compliant in all areas with an ultimate goal of going for Gold . The role of the NN is to support childrens development in partnership with parents, through observing, planning for next steps and evaluating. A NN has the responsibility of building strong partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure every child has an individual plan unique and aligned to their own needs and interests. This role requires working in collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements.

Demonstrate and ensure good practice and compliance with the revised EYFS Framework through adherence to policies and procedures
Understand the importance of keeping everyone safe and the part you play
Practice positive behaviour management techniques
Meeting the individual dietary, health, comfort and care needs of each individual child
Have a child centred approach, ensuring the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children and their interests.
Maintaining accurate and effective childrens records and completion of progress checks
Attend staff meetings and training sessions including all mandatory training for continuous Professional Development
Drive own development through active participation in appraisals, one to ones and requesting supervisions where required
Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers, taking a BOLD approach to stand out amongst competitors.
Use reflection to proactively take on board new ideas and initiatives including feedback from external professionals to enhance the nursery


Desired Qualifications

A full and relevant Level 2/3 qualification
A university Degree
First aid 12hour paediatric qualification
A good record of ongoing training and/or other relevant qualifications


Essential Experience

Experience working in an early year setting


Desired Experience

Experience in any role, which includes face to face work directly with children, within an early years context.
Experience working with babies either in a professional home base or early years provision.


Essential Knowledge

Understand issues around child development to support all children including children with disabilities.
Good knowledge of the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage (Curriculum frameworks) and Welfare Requirements.
An understanding of your role in keeping everyone safe and how to apply child protection procedures.
Able to work in partnership with parents and other professionals.
Understand the importance of and fulfil the role of a key person.
Understand the importance of ensuring equality and diversity in a nursery setting.
Understanding what is important in determining high quality care and learning for young children.
Understand and support childrens transitions.
An understanding of confidentiality and its importance in the early years setting Knowledge.


Desired Knowledge
