Imagine this...

It's your first day in an exciting new job. You've been looking for a role that could start your journey outside of the testing room and it's finally here...

You've been welcomed into the company throughout the interview process, meeting everyone from the Professional Services Team to the Ophthalmic Director.

On your first day, you spend time with key decision makers, getting yourself organised and clued-up on your new role. The induction process is informative and clear-cut; providing you with everything you need to be a success, while also giving you time to ask any questions.

None of this came as a surprise though.

During your interview, James, the Recruitment Manager, was honest with you from the onset. You performed a supervised trial eye-examination and explored the mobile equipment on offer (the mobile fundus camera is awesome by the way!).

After a few weeks, you're travelling around Lincolnshire in your new Volvo V60, finally free of the testing room. You're making a real difference to patients and that's why you made the move. You wonder why you didn't change sooner...


So, you've imagined the journey you could be making with our client. It's obviously important the salary and benefits stack up too, right?

Our client offers a basic salary ranging between £50,000 and £65,000 pa. The bonus is different to your average Specsavers or Boots. You earn a percentage of your dispenses per day. Each day you can work out, to the nearest penny, what bonus you are making for each day of work - before tax. With average dispense values of £250 per patient and an 80% dispense value, financially this should be an excellent move for most of the industry.

Most Optometrists with our client earn a minimum of £10,000 pa bonus.

Company Car

Not only do you get an industry leading salary with our client, you also get the chance to have a top of the range Volvo V60/40. They don't scrimp on the model either... all Optom's have the option to use a company car (which can be used for personal purposes) or can use their own vehicles and claim mileage on each journey.

The Volvo V60/40 which our client uses is the T2 Nav version, which provides the user with an array of benefits. This includes:

Alloy power door mirrors, heated with integrated lights

Power Steering; electrical speed proportional

Audio system with in-dash DVD player, a CD player that reads MP3 CD's; radio and RDS colour screen
