Safety & Business Continuity OfficerFIMBank is an international trade finance bank with an international network of offices spanning five continents. Operational Continuity OfficerThe Safety & Business Continuity Officer shall be mainly responsible for the workplace environmental Health and Safety across all national and international offices. He/she shall liaise with key individuals at all offices to ensure the Bank’s premises are in line with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and policies as well as ensuring the organisation has an effective response to major disruptions that threaten business continuity.Key responsibilities: The Operational Continuity Officer will use his / her extensive experience to: • Lead the Health and Safety Committee at head office to ensure the organization is compliant with all the relevant health and safety legislation. • Support all other teams as may be requested, ensuring the Group meets all the necessary legal and organizational requirements; • Support Bank units with the development, implementation and execution of Health and Safety Programmes • Organize and coordinate training for first aiders, fire wardens and assist the Facilities function to ensure that offices are compliant with the standards of occupational psychology, human factors (ergonomics) and workplace design.• Perform adequate Risk assessments as and when required and also act as a reference point in relation to health and safety and business continuity.• Support Crisis Management Team initiatives. Maintain close cooperation with all business units including branches and subsidiaries worldwide, ensuring the organisation has an effective response strategy to major disruptions that may threaten business continuity.• Maintain comprehensive business contingency plans and crisis procedures and ascertain that these are up to date. Roll-out standardised approaches for incident and crisis management while ensuring that plans and post incident reviews are developed, tested and employees trained accordingly as may be required.• Pro-actively work on raising crisis awareness by educating stakeholders through the dissemination of information and sharing/updating procedures on a periodical basis. Work closely together with all business units to continuously improve procedures and checklists based on learnings, evaluations and ad hoc feedback.The successful candidate will: • Preferably have a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent;• Have a relevant qualification at MQF Level 5 in Health and Safety and Environmental Management or equivalent;• Have a minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated experience working in a similar position;• Be able to work under pressure and work towards agreed performance targets;• Be proactive, detail oriented and have a flexible working approach;• Possess strong analytical and decision-making skills;• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
