1. SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS:

Produce electrical schematics and interconnection drawings and liaise with control suppliers.
Some Mechanical equipment outline drawings, layouts for end customer will be required pending workload in department.
Interpret customer requirements and technical specifications.

2. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•AutoCad operator focusing on electrical requirements of the Engineering Dept.
•Knowledge and use of BS 7671 17th edition wiring regulations
•Knowledge of BS EN 60204 (safety of machines)
•Knowledge / experience of electrical control panel design for industrial equipment.
•Read, understand and produce P&ID's, LV electrical control schematics and interconnection diagrams derived from customer, and internal, specifications.
•Liaise with workshop staff to create SOP's and streamline electrical equipment design and build within the company.
•Inventor 3D experience advantageous
•Good database and computer skills. MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc)
•Ability to work unsupervised and create detailed electrical drawings as detailed above and also manufacturing package of drawings, parts lists and BOM's.
•Work as part of engineering team (9 other engineers and Designers)

3. MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Liaise with other departments - sales, engineering, purchasing, production, and quality to ensure accuracy and delivery of projects to specification.
•Read technical specifications & relate findings.
•Complete final design of equipment & issue to customer with any electrical drawings for approval, along with component / assembly / manufacturing drawings
•Produce Manufacturing Instructions (MI's) & all drawings for procurement of Contract Specific equipment.
•Liaise with suppliers to select appropriate components
•Answer technical questions to external customers/suppliers when required.
•Assist sales in technical questions / request for drawings and electrical detail.
•Keep contract / job files up to date with any drawing changes & issue these to manufacturing / customer.

4. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to the Drawing Office Manager.

5. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

• Ability to discuss drawings and technical detail
• Experience of using AutoCad is essential
• Electrical / control knowledge is essential
• Experience of using Inventor is advantageous
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering & production engineering practise
• ONC/HNC/Mech. Tech qualification required.
