Project Engineer (Turbomachinery) £27 – 32,000 + Bonus + Very Competitive Package Locations: Reading / Basingstoke / Newbury / Farnborough / Slough / Maidenhead / Andover / Winchester / Oxford ***Ideally suitable for a hands on yet commercial graduate or someone with 1-2 year’s relevant experience. UK Citizens only. The Company My client is a global manufacturing organisation & are a market leader within their industry. They have a need for a talented engineering graduate to join their projects team. My client has strategic plans for further expansion and are committed to developing and nurturing talent and the future workforce. What the role involves: The role will involve managing the full repair life cycle of OEM and non-OEM rotating machinery and being responsible for all commercial & technical aspects. The primary function is to work closely with the quotation team and review inspection results with project management and assist in making recommendations for repair. This position works closely with shop operations, the scheduling team, the quote team and other project managers to meet customer expectations while supporting company guidelines and procedures. This position will compile facts and technical information to generate customer reports. You will be the prime troubleshooter for shop problems on assigned product lines. • Issuing initial proposals for inspection and repair of rotating equipment. • This will involve reverse engineering • Collecting and analyzing detailed technical information • Performing engineering analysis and calculations and effectively communicating that information regarding the assigned project to the project group. • Instructing and overseeing the inspection of rotating equipment. • Provide technical support to service, repair & R&D • Issuing technical proposals with repair recommendations. • Evaluate non-conformances • Putting together costings for the commercial repair proposal. • Working alongside production staff to schedule required repairs in the workshop. • Instructing and overseeing repairs • Taking responsibility for technical decisions and ensuring the equipment is repaired to the required standard • Providing technical support and guidance to repair technicians. • Sourcing and managing all sub-vendor activities. • Ensuring repairs are kept on budget and that all commercial obligations are met. • Ensuring all inspection and repair work is completed safely. • Providing technical support to customers Desirable (not a perquisite) Technical Knowledge / Experience: • Knowledge of industrial rotating equipment (E.g. compressors, pumps, gearboxes, turbines, mechanical systems etc). • Inspection, disassembly, dimensioning of rotating equipment etc • Turning, milling, boring and/or grinding etc • Repairs of shafts, impellers, blades, bearings, seals of rotating equipment etc Education • Ideally a Mechanical Engineering Degree • Ideally 1-2 years’ ‘real world’ experience • Minimum of HNC / HND On offer to the successful candidate is the ability to work for a true market leader in their field, with a fantastic financial package, with a great opportunity to progress your career.
