OX11 0QX, Harwell Campus
£30,000 - £55,000 + Share Options & Company Pension Scheme

Are you bored in your current role and looking for fresh challenge? We are a dynamic sci-tech company bringing an exciting new chemical analysis technology to market. If you have a background in Optics, Physics and General Engineering with experience of high-tech product development we'd love to hear from you.

Our products are mid-infrared spectrometers suitable for the harsh process conditions found in the Petrochemical, chemical, bio-renewables and pharmaceutical industries. The spectrometers comprise of a free-space optical interferometer coupled to a variety of immersion probes made from chemically inert materials.

We are experiencing a high demand for our product range and need to increase the capability of the product development team. Manufacturing is performed in house and supporting manufacturing is a key part of the team's role. The team works with an agile mindset which means that you'll get involved in a broad range of activities along with your primary responsibilities.

You must have a first degree in Physics or Engineering and industrial experience in product development and manufacture.

It would be a bonus if you:

- have significant manufacturing experience, perhaps developing processes or test equipment.
- hold certification for lean 6-sigma. (e.g. Green Belt)
- have experience in the process industries: Petrochemical, Industrial gasses, Oil and Gas or Pharmaceuticals.

The types of activities that this role may provide include:

+ optical design, modelling, simulation and test. We use Zemax and FRED for ray tracing and Octave or Python for modelling.
+ developing production processes: writing work instructions, providing test and assembly methods
+ troubleshooting production issues
+ managing outsourced product development work
+ designing and running reliability tests
+ demonstrating regulatory compliance with various standards including the Pressure Equipment Directive and ATEX.
+ software testing
+ sourcing and auditing suppliers

If in doubt, please apply! We look forwards to hearing from you.
