Support Worker/Senior Support Worker - Children’s Residential Services

Location - Taunton

Salary - £16,000 - £23,000 depending on experience plus generous sleep in allowance

Aurora Resourcing is delighted to offer an appointment with an established residential children’s services provider in Taunton. Established in the 80’s, my clients provide support to a diverse range of children and young people. They are proud of the positive effect they have on the lives of the children in their care and dedicate themselves to fulfilling the emotional, psychological and complex needs of their children. The growth they have experienced over the years has been extensive; they have a not-for-profit family placement service alongside many residential settings throughout the UK. The children they provide care for are aged 7-16 years with challenging behaviour, EBD and Autism.

As a result of this growth they are currently recruiting for a Support Worker up to a Senior level to join the team in their home in Taunton.

You will ideally be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 NVQ in children & young people or willing to work towards this qualification, which would be funded by the company. It is essential that you have current or recent experience within children’s residential services.

For this role you will need:

  • Sound knowledge of Child Protection
  • A minimum of two years experience of working with children with complex needs within a residential setting
  • Capable of maintaining high care standards
  • General home management
  • Confident to provide some team management
  • Health & Safety knowledge
  • Flexible to shift patterns including sleep-ins
  • Driver with access to a vehicle

You will work 24 hours shifts on a 3 week rolling rota.
