CMD Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a National Training Provider in the recruitment of a Functional Skills/Employability Trainer.

We are excited to announce that our client has an opportunity for an experienced trainer to deliver employability and IT skills to a diverse range of young adults on the Enhancing Apprenticeships programme.

The main aim of the service is to increase the number of individuals entering traineeships and apprenticeships at all levels. The services must engage young people with an interest in the key sectors and provide them with on-going support to help them move into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education, volunteering or work.

This is a busy and varied role which will require you to use all of your proven skills and behaviours to provide a robust and dedicated support to clients through group and 1-2-1 work using proven teaching techniques inspiring young people to engage successfully through various teaching methods and stretching learners to enhance potential.

About the Role:

You will actively engage with individuals within a group and 1-2-1 setting primarily focused on delivering a wide range of employability skills, IT and work experience to ensure learners are work-ready for vacancies within specific sectors in line with local labour market demands.

You will aspire to stretch and challenge learners to unleash hidden skills and equip them to secure sustained employment.

The main focus of the role will be to provide a full Learning and Development service to customers as determined by contractual requirements. You will assist in planning, delivering and evaluation of training projects and training on a one-to-one and group basis.

You must be confident in classroom delivery and have a good understanding of the needs of your client base ensuring appropriate training is delivered whilst keeping clients engaged for the duration of the programme.

Please Note: The role involves maintaining and keeping up to date with associated administration/client files in line with contractual and Ofsted requirements.

You will be working within a fast-paced, results driven and rewarding environment, no two days will be the same!

About you:

You must be in possession of a relevant Level 4 teaching qualification or above (e.g. C&G 7407 Stage 1, 2 & 3, C&G 7307 Stage 1,2 & 3, CertED, PGCE, CTTLS, DTTLS) and Level 2 or above in Maths and English.

Level 2 IT is also desirable. Should you not be in possession of this, the successful candidate must be willing to work and achieve this.

You must also:

- Have previous training experience
- Be an adept communicator with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others.
- Display strong motivational, customer service and organisational skills.
- Be a competent training delivery professional, encompassing equality of opportunity strategies and adhering to the client's Safeguarding Policy.
- Be competent in the use and purpose of technology with excellent IT and administrative skills.
- Be in possession of demonstrable lateral thinking skills.
- Be an enthusiastic and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others.
- Be able to work under pressure, on own initiative and constantly seek to improve.
- Have a professional outlook, the ability to maintain confidentiality and act as an ambassador for the client

As well as an upbeat, can-do attitude and a passion to succeed, you will be an adept communicator with the ability to influence, persuade and listen to others effectively.
