Mid-Weight UX/UI Designer - London - £30K - £40K

Austin Fraser are proud to be working exclusively with the leading EdTech company in the UK as they enter an exciting period of rapid growth.

Our client offer a cutting edge information analytics platform which is capable of gathering a huge amount of data, and intelligently presenting that back to the user in a way which offer massive insights to their work

The Client has built a system that improves the input, analysis and communication of school information, saving precious time.

They are now looking to bring in a Mid-Weight UX/UI Designer to join their team. As the UX/UI Designer you will be part an innovative team, fast-paced, growing business. You will report to the Senior Design Produce Manager, taking ownership of the development and managing functionality in their platform. If you are meticulous, driven team player working in an exciting and collaborative environment then this is the role for you.

The Role

- Support big design projects (think new design tools, flagship user flows and other high-impact projects).
- Working closely with other areas of the business such as engineers
- Contribute to strategic decisions with the rest of the team.
- Research from customer feedback, holding interviews and observations of school stakeholders and create use cases and user flows.
- Agile methodologies and with product managers to design wireframes, mockups and high-fidelity user interfaces.
- Manage and work with a distributed workforce of engineers to deliver prioritised features and products in readiness for take to market.
- Support the team in developing features that help people in schools use our products more effectively.
- Support the testing and evaluation of new development work to ensure that the highest standards of quality are maintained.
- Takeing ownership of your creative work.
- Act as a front-end platform expert / champion when engaging with other business areas.
- Conduct ongoing research to understand our business, market and channels to aid product decision making.


- Solid design background with an strong eye for visual and interaction details;
- 3+ years of UI design within an agency or software company building products (not just websites);
- Self-motivated
- Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS
- Strong portfolio demonstrating critical thinking and creativity (showing your thought process as much as your finished work);
- Ability to break down the user's needs and turn these into exciting and interesting designs
- Comfortable in the design software of your choice (Sketch, Marvel, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Excellent communiation skills working in a collaboratortive envirnonment
- Experience working with product managers & developers in agile environments to build solutions working to tight deadlines
- Experience working for an enterprise software company would be a bonus, as would experience within UK school system!
