Shift Pattern/Working Hours: x4 on x4 off rotating days/nights (06:00:18:00.18:00:06:00)

Main Responsibilities:

To take it upon yourself and lead one of eight shift area teams. To take responsibility of the five key metric areas for the area/shift: EHS, quality, service, finance (yield & labour costs) & people (engagement, training and attendance) To manage and deliver a quick outcome for the task in hand with each metric all the while communicating and keeping the area shift team engaged.

Key Tasks and Accountability's:

- Enforce a strong EHS culture: Set a good example
- Provide a leadership style that is engaging and challenging for the team.
- Get yourself involved with the asset care programme for the asset group indicated.
- Encourage team engagement in the structured performance improvement project
- Communicate with the operations manager/OpEx team prioritising plant/asset performance
- Distribute pro active area communication via shift huddles
- Deliver all relevant safety Near Miss reported issues in a timely fashion.
- Take part in the departmental audit process : EHS,GMP.5S.
- To engage in the site OD programme to ensure the area/shift has the appropriate skills/flexibility
- To make sure shift surveillance is delivered
- Complete all safety, operations, quality, process & reporting related documentation to a high standard of accuracy & legibility.

Knowledge

- Shift/team lead management
- GMP
- EHS:
- Operational excellence : Understand the key principles: top loss management, 5S etc. etc.

Attitudes Required

- IT literate - fully versed in MS Office & SAP
- Good verbal and numerate skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Pro active : can deliver short actions to drive improvement
- Ability to engage effectively with the line/area team to maximise performance
- Results driven, can push self and motivate others to deliver outstanding results
- Able to work under pressure and deliver results to a defined deadline

Experience

- Manufacturing, ideally FMCG or any other fast paced environment
- Lean or Six Sigma knowledge

Qualifications

- IOSH Managing Safely qualification (desired but not essential)
