I have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Assistant IT Vendor / Supplier Manager for my key client based in Bristol. My client is one of the leading challenger banks within the UK providing a range of banking and financial products to the personal banking and commercial banking sectors.

The core purpose of the role is to assist the Vendor Manager in the management of the IT services received from their new outsourced IT Services provider, spanning service management, catalogue management, contract management, IT financial management, and cross-entity governance and data operations.

This is a role that would suit someone who has a passion for being part of something new as the business build out this new function, has experience of supplier governance and management and who is interested in working closely with their new Group IT colleagues.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the management of their outsourced IT services provider from both a governance and reporting perspective. You will be required to support the management of and reporting around the cross entity governance regime and associated contractual performance and financial metrics. This will assist in ensuring the relationship operates effectively; contractual obligations and performance are tracked and monitored, escalations are managed, contract changes are delivered, and their financial position is understood and overall their management of the supplier is successful. You may also be responsible for supporting the financial management, reporting and analysis of the key contractual cost drivers. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, stakeholder management, collaboration and problem solving skills. Previous experience of supplier management, commercial or financial disciplines and an IT environment are desirable but not required.

Key Accountabilities:

- Monitoring the performance of the 3rd party supplier to ensure that the IT business needs are delivered
- Monitoring performance thresholds (SLAs) and ensuring commercial obligations are met. Where SLAs are not met ensuring that service improvement plans are created and delivered
- Building an effective working relationship with the 3rd party suppliers relationship teams based in Edinburgh and London
- Support the setting up of the financial/contractual reporting/related governance processes required to manage the 3rd party supplier
- Work within appropriate risk and controls, ensuring adherence (or documentation/identification of any exemptions) to Group Policies, Legal and Regulatory requirements
- Support the mobilisation and ongoing management of the OSA community within the business, ensuring Supplier Management capabilities are continually developed and nurtured through sharing of best practices, learning and improvements
- Support, manage and maintain, process documentation and storage in line with records management
- Support the Accountable Executives, Contract owners and wider CIO team members in all aspects of the relationship including the preparation and reporting to BEC and Board

Skills and Experience:

- Disciplined work approach including the ability to work to deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy is essential
- Collaborative style with both internal and external customers; team player with a flexible approach
- Good interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
- Ability to operate and influence in a complex and diverse stakeholder environment; building and maintaining effective relationships
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to adapt quickly, calmly and positively to changing priorities
- Self-motivated, with good organisational skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite (In particular Excel and PowerPoint)
- Capable of producing accurate and concise MI/reports, minutes and action lists; able to summarise information and apply critical analysis
- Financial Services industry experience (desirable but not essential)
- Technology services experience (desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of Supplier Management and Supplier Governance (desirable but not essential)
