My Client, based in Newent, is looking for a Logistics Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.


• Ensure the timely delivery of all the Company orders to customers and report any expected delays to the sales & operational team
• Negotiate, engage & manage the services of third party carriers and haulage companies
• Work in conjunction with purchasing staff to ensure timely deliveries and storage of raw materials, including the expediting of supplier deliveries as required
• Manage and control the storage of finish goods and the loading bay areas
• Manage and develop the logistics team, including compliance with all company policies & procedures such as time keeping, absence and health & safety. This will include applying the companies disciplinary and grievance policy where applicable
• Make sure project deadlines are met and show good prioritization skills
• Liaise with customs & chamber of commerce regarding the exporting of goods through 3rd party logistics
• Set, deliver and achieve KPIs to measure performance and report results to management
• Make arrangements to ensure logistics staff comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph rules and speed limits.
• Verify all relevant license’s and qualifications associated with the legal compliance of the company’s logistics operation, including CPC, drivers’ licenses, FLT operator training and Operator’s license.
• Make arrangements to ensure that the vehicles are maintained properly, including inspection intervals, and take action to remedy defects found.
• Establish the method of compilation and the accuracy of all transport records
• Make arrangements to ensure that the vehicle/s are not overloaded.
• Ensure that authorised vehicles will be kept at the authorised operating center when not in use.
• Identify key transport cost drivers and implement cost reduction and avoidance initiatives. Use and develop Microsoft Excel systems to manage cost improvements.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 GCSE’s (grade A-E) or the equivalent of GCSE’s.
• DSA driving Assessor Category D, D+E, C, C + E.
• ILM Level 3 minimum OR BTEC Level 4 – Management.
• Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
• Lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kaizen Or 6 Sigma.
• CPC license

The role is Full Time, Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00 and Friday: 07:30 – 11:45
