Our Daventry based client is looking to recruit an Operations Coordinator to assist the buyer in ensuring manufacturing/operations has the materials required for production, provide production schedules according to customer needs and material availability and control the purchase order system.

Key responsibilities

Assist the buyer to ensure sufficient qualified batches of raw materials are in stock ready for use in manufacturing.

Control the issue of materials and components requiring external process or treatments.

Carry out administrative requirements for purchasing inventories and purchase requests.

In the absence of the buyer produce, coordinate and track master production schedules that optimise customer service, ensuring customer requirements are met.

Plan and release of purchase requisitions for the raw materials or bought in goods as required for manufacturing.

Ensure all necessary data is recorded accurately on the Company's internal systems

Perform various system routines to ensure data integrity and produce reports as required to support operational needs.

Create and communicate purchase orders for the UK Head Office.

Establish good working relationships with internal customers & external partners to optimise the material flow process and material availability.

Obtaining quotes by forwarding requirements to supplier and managing purchasing process including rejection documentation to suppliers.

Ensuring materials, equipment, and supplies availability by tracking and expediting delivery.

Resolving discrepancies and negotiates credits.

Identify areas of improvement and adjust existing work procedures and practices to improve the processes.

Comply with all Company rules including Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.

Skills and Experience

Background in buying/purchasing/production scheduling.

Excellent I.T. skills - able to use Word, Outlook, Excel and internal systems.

Excellent planning, organising and prioritizing skills

Hardworking, attention to detail, thorough.

Ability to get things done through others in different departments when required.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes.

Tenacious, keeps track of requirements and ensures schedules set are followed through.

Ability to adapt plans according to customer or business requirements.

Ability to act on own initiative and solve problems effectively.
