Within walking distance of Small Heath train station this school is ideally suited for those who want to remain close enough to the city centre. There is also a number of direct bus routes that go straight to Birmingham New Street and other stations. Due to the inner-city location, this school has a context similar to many other inner-city schools. It is a large, oversubscribed two-form entry with a higher than average proportion of students who are classed as disadvantaged and over 60% of students speak English as an additional language. The Year 4 class you will be responsible for have had a successful year so far in year 3, with their current class teacher describing them as a lovely class who are well behaved and respond well to a teacher who can create a calm, yet engaging classroom environment.
As a Year 4 primary teacher you must have good subject knowledge and the ability to produce creative, fun and inspiring lessons. You will have had previous success within lesson observations and have been graded either good or outstanding recently. The supportive head teacher at this school is keen to meet with a passionate primary teacher who can bring their enthusiasm and knowledge to their classroom in order to inspire your students.
