Job Specific Qualifications

  • NVQ level 2 / QCF in Health and Social Care
  • NVQ level 3 / QCF in Health & Social Care
  • An awareness and adherence to the 6 C's Standards of Compassionate Care: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, Commitment

Main Duties (will depend on Healthcare or Homecare Setting)

Typical Duties - Health Care (Hospitals and Care Homes)

  • Provide support to the Registered Nurse/Manager in the implementation of the agreed plan of care and in accordance with instructions and any training received.
  • Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meet the needs of the patients/client, carers and relatives
  • Ensure health, safety and welfare of yourself, your colleagues and your clients
  • Meticulous record keeping - maintaining up to date reports such as care plans
  • Maintain regular communication with branch manager
  • Respect the individuality and confidentiality of each client
  • To communicate effectively
  • To work as part of a team

Typical Duties - Homecare (Care in the home/domiciliary Care)

  • Assist with activities of daily living and domestic duties (homecare)
  • Ensure health, safety and welfare of yourself, colleagues and clients
  • Meticulous Record Keeping - maintaining up to date reports such as care plans
  • Maintain regular communication with branch manager
  • Respect the individuality and confidentiality of each client
  • To communicate effectively
  • To work as part of a team as well as lone working
