The Company

Wearable Technologies Limited (WTL) [URL removed] are pioneers in embedding washable electronics into a varied range of intelligent clothing with over 40 granted patents in the area of smart fabric technology. We have a strong knowledge and know how in sensor integration into garments with in house expertise in electronics, software and smart garment development. The company already licences its embedded electronics technology and solutions to some of Europe's largest PPE garment manufacturers, and manufactures and sells its own ranges of industrial garments around the world through its own Visijax brand and through retailers such as Halfords. It has distributors in the UK, USA, France, Canada, Australia and Switzerland. The company sits at the convergence of electronics, garments and data.

WTL is on the way to producing an end to end solution by developing smart garments with intelligent sensors and control box which communicate with an IoT platform and dashboard to provide meaningful information from the data generated.

Purpose of Job

To assist in designing, developing, testing and evaluating electronic circuits and systems to create leading edge products using the necessary development tools to deliver the company's product portfolio.

Person Specification


- Some exposure of design, development, testing of low-power analogue and digital electronics.
- Experience of embedded systems and microcontrollers.
- Demonstrable knowledge of a broad range of technical disciplines & engineering principles
- Technical specification, report writing and user guide generation


- Experience in schematic and PCB design according to specifications, fault finding and debugging prototype boards.
- Knowledge on use of CAD packages and simulation and modelling software e.g. SolidWorks
- Able to program firmware in C

- Having a passion for creating new products, you will be assisting the lead electronics engineer in designing, developing electronics concepts and products with a focus on cost efficiency and design for manufacture whilst working in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure our contractual commitments are achieved.
- Seeks advice and guidance from line managers, and peers to ensure we always progress.
- Ability to coordinate and effectively communicate.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on work delivery progress
- Keep abreast of developments in electronics and wearable technologies along with attending exhibitions and trade shows where appropriate.
