The company

Our client is an exciting and rapidly expanding start up in the field of condition monitoring and prognostics. They are developing a cutting edge cloud product to provide scalable prognostics and advanced condition monitoring to the manufacturing sector. Their team of engineers consist of software engineers, UI experts, physicists and mechanical engineers. They are based in Southampton and are currently implementing the art of the possible in regression, anomaly detection, optimization, forecasting, prognostics and more ?run of the mill` analytics. Following successful investment funding and strong traction from large multi-national clients, they are looking to expand the Data Science team.

The Role

Your role as a Data Scientist will be to research and implement a variety of machine learning algorithms for forecasting, anomaly detection, optimisation and regression. Keep abreast of the latest research and best practise in prognostics, machine learning and data science. Analyse time series data to understand patterns and machine condition indicators. Extract features and other noteworthy artefacts from data streams.

Requirements

BSc/MSc in Computer Science/Engineering (or other numerical discipline). Relevant PhD preferred.
Strong communication skills and able to discuss complex problems with senior and junior staff.
Able to support customer engagement activities.
Experience in machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised techniques, against different data sets.
Experience in feature extraction and data cleansing.
Experience in software programming (e.g. golang, python) to implement suitable algorithms.

Key Skills

Experience in IoT technologies an advantage.
Experience in prognostics or condition monitoring is a distinct advantage.
