Portsmouth Water is one of the leading water companies in England and Wales, being ranked first in the industry for customer service over the past 3 years and at the same time delivering the lowest customer bills, showing our commitment to continuous improvement in both technology and performance to meet the needs of our customers.

Engineers have to constantly address new challenges and problems, Portsmouth Water is no different, including renewing long sections of our distribution network in order to reduce the number of annual bursts. This involves replacing sections of pipework using new technologies, managing installations on new sites, service connections, reinstatements and meter work in collaboration with our Infrastructure partners, Cappagh, whilst ensuring we maintain our high levels of customer service.

We are looking for a civil engineer who has experience in leading this type of work and who is also committed to building and sustaining collaborative relationships through the right behaviours: delivering on our actions, open and honest, teamwork, taking responsibility, embracing change, treating everyone equally, and all with a positive attitude.

The new member of our team, working at all times within our values of excellence, respect and integrity, will be self-motivated, show initiative and a commitment to positive, proactive health and safety. They will also need a full UK driving licence as the role will require travel to various sites within our area and be eligible to work in the UK.

We are looking for a self-starter, potentially qualified to degree level and having chartered status or working towards their professional review. Experience of project management and ideally programme management is also a requirement, having APMP qualification would be an advantage.

Other benefits include group personal pension scheme, support for professional and academic development, cycle to work scheme, 27-31 days annual leave, family health insurance, car allowance and a profit share scheme through the companies Employee Owned Trust. Being a relatively small company it is easy to speak to decision makers and really have an influence on how the Company works and projects are delivered.

Applicants should send a CV with 2 referees outlining salary expectations and including a brief sentence on why customer service is important in this role.
