Digital Project Lead (12 Month Contract)
Poole, Dorset
£30,368 - £35,727 DOE

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a charity that provides a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service.

Our lifeboat crew and lifeguards are only able to succeed in their mission to save more lives from drowning because they have dedicated professional people behind them. As such, we are now looking for a Digital Project Lead to join the team at our headquarters in Poole for a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a digital project manager to take their next step with one of the UK's best loved charities. From our distinctive orange and navy lifeboats to our red and yellow-clad lifeguards, we are recognisable the world over for our skills, abilities and experience.

In order to keep us at the forefront of the digital world and maximise uptake and recognition, we need you to utilise your skills and drive our digital offering forward. Success in your role will mean we are able to continue our vital work for years to come, safe in the knowledge that your skills have enabled us to reach more people and generate further support.

So if you are up to the challenge, apply today and see where you can take us.

As the Digital Project Lead, you will join the newly formed Digital Transformation Team and play a vital role in driving forward new digital projects that will enable us to capitalise on digital activity.

You'll be project managing a variety of digital projects, producing plans, working with digital business partners, overseeing budgets and ensuring best practice methodologies are utilised. Involved with key internal stakeholders, you will establish priorities and expectations, manage communications, identify risks and maintain an awareness of digital technologies and trends.

A major focus of your role will be the implementation of a new RNLI intranet. As part of the digital transformation programme, you will project manage this element and ensure successful outcomes.

Interested? If so, you will need:

- Significant experience of project managing digital projects
- Experience of working within large and complex organisations, communicating across all relevant levels and ensuring all primary stakeholders are aware of project status
- A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 practitioner or Agile

Influential, driven and results oriented, as the Digital Project Lead, you will need strong communication skills, the ability to function well in a team and a leadership mentality.

Our staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, we also look for applicants who share our commitment to living our RNLI values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping us work towards our goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using our expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.

The closing date for this role is the 1st May, 2017. Interviews will be scheduled for the 11th and 12th May, 2017.
