Manufacturing Engineer - Defence/ Aersospace - Hasting - Circa 40-45K

My client is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer on a permanent basis for a world-leader in the integration of cutting-edge defence and security systems, delivering decisive advantage to military, government and civil customers worldwide.

The Manufacturing Engineer is to initiate and provide guidance to the design, development, plan and implement of manufacturing in an electronics assembly environment. Continually improve manufacturing processes using industry best practices.

Responsibilities:
Use of industry best practice for the support and improvement of plant equipment and processes, in the manufacture of circuit card and box build assemblies. Responsible for the co-ordination and final work instructions for build needs, ensuring that all tooling and machine programming are available for use. Work with Programme Management and Design Engineering team supporting new programmes in order to ensure that DFM, and DTC principles are implemented within the conceptual and final design phases. Ability to lead the resolution of technical / manufacturing issues without detailed direction, as part of the team. Drive Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout Manufacturing with a bias on process improvements. Demonstrate the ability to review labour quotes versus actual times, and implement process improvements where opportunities arise. Produce R.O.M. and detailed costings of product build, that support best cost build practices. Ability to review Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and provide feedback on labour impact of change. Responsible for the collating, vetting and marshalling of BOM's, to the correct areas of process operation. Proficient understanding of manufacturing process controls and the statistical applications associated. Develop and maintain and standardize product routing structure. Develop and maintain product time standards. Proficient in MS Office for day to day interface with the global team. Capability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects. Train Operators on processes and work instructions. Act as a first point of contact for the shop floor, when process issues arise. Skills required:
HND or equivalent within Industrial, Process, Manufacturing Engineering preferred. Significant background in Process/Manufacturing Engineering role. Extensive understanding and advanced programming of PCBA process equipment, to include solder paste printing, pick and place SMT equipment, re-flow oven profiles, AOI and PTH. Good communications and interpersonal skills IPC-A-610C Knowledge of the following Software/systems and would be desirable. Unicam. Gerber. Europlacer Surface Mount. Oracle ERP.
