About the Role:

Working as an Industrial Engineer, you will be required to support the Line Process Manager on a day to day basis and lead the implementation of improvement projects to ensure the company's products are produced at the required quality levels as efficiently as possible. This area of the business manufacturer's medium - voltage switchgear & casings and specific duties will include;

Lead PFMEA and the implementation of poka yoke and Jidoka alongside the quality and engineering team

Ensure the standardization between each line and control industrial indicators

Continual analysis and improvement of assembly and manufacturing techniques through benchmarking, eliminating waste, eliminating any potential quality/product quality issues in order to meet the recommendations of any Health and Safety risk assessments

Developing layouts, project plans, procurement and/or design of tooling/jigs/fixtures, the sourcing of cost effective external services and to lead the implementation of any such projects

Labour productivity improvement via; Conduct Work Measurement/Method Studies against new and existing tasks to establish time estimates, measure operator performance and ensure that the most effective Manufacturing and Assembly techniques are adopted

Log all lost time issues and create an action plan for root cause

Compile comprehensive product assembly and manufacturing manuals with clear and concise instruction/visual aids in order to ensure assembly personnel can elicit accurate parts information or assembly detail

Develop significant Capex proposals and successfully project manage the implementation for any projects/plant/tooling etc. which may be required to improve efficiency or reduce the costs of manufacture/assembly processes ensuring that health and safety regulations are accounted for

Support and facilitate a number of Kaizen improvements and provide advice, components/parts, external information, PC training, financial assistance/justifications and presentations packages to ensure the groups operate as effectively as possible

Assist with the day to day SIM issues supporting the department ensuring that resources are best deployed to suit the priorities of the business

Project manage significant cost reduction/process improvement projects leading a cross functional team against the business objectives

Key Skills/Experience Required:

In order to be considered for the role of Industrial Engineer, you must possess the following;

An extensive understanding of general mechanical/production engineering principals, systems and machine operation

A LEAN manufacturing background

Knowledge of SAP

Experience of PFMEA
