Application Support Analyst – SQL, ITIL

My client, a leading organisation in their field have a requirement for an experienced Application Support Analyst to come on board and contribute to the progress of the team (currently 4). This is a 2nd line support role and the ideal candidate will have some experience of SQL Querying, DB skills and a background with supporting bespoke applications,

Please note that this role is based in Woking and with occasional travel to nearby offices and that the standard hours of business are 08:00 to 17:30

Primary responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Ensure configuration, change and event management processes, procedures and controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Working alongside the IT Service desk the candidate will be expected to proactively support the deployed applications and associated plug-ins Group wide, back office support and maintenance.
  • Continue maintenance and Development of the organisational knowledgebase.
  • Apply knowledge of the Front End use of applications to meet Business requirements and act as beacons for the embrace and application of technology across the Group businesses.
  • Provide support for Application issues.
  • Floor walking and End user engagement on site.
  • Test new software releases and maintain release management database.
  • Identify manual business processes and recommend automated solutions.
  • Document processes and provide process improvement.
  • Maintain IT knowledgebase.
  • Maintain and support the BAU application stack.
  • Support the transition of applications into live service.
  • Support the Application Project team on Application Integration, Development and selection for use in the Group.
  • Skills Required:

    Essential experience, skills and qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of Databases,
  • Technical Support for back office application Software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office – trouble shooting user issues.
  • ITIL experience
  • Beneficial Experience / Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS SharePoint.
  • Experience of working with bespoke applications.
  • Experience of working alongside a Development and Project team.
