Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Automotive, Birmingham, West Midlands - Permanent £30,000 - £35,000 + Excellent Benefits package

Unknown Recruitment is working with a leading Automotive client based in Birmingham who are recruiting a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE). The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for verifying incoming goods conformance to specification, ensure correct operation of Goods Inward Quality process and maintain QMS requirements as defined in company documentation.

This Supplier quality engineer SQE position has arisen due to an internal promotion, this is a great opportunity to join their team, be part of their success and heritage.

You will be working for a globally recognised automotive Tier 1 component manufacturer, your new company is well-established in their market, providing some of the worlds most renowned automotive OEM's with high quality automotive components. You have must worked in the automotive sector for minimum of 3 years, with the ability to read engineering drawings to ascertain parts compliance whilst using TS16949, PPAP, 8D, APQP within a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will include:

- Administer Goods Inward Quality Function and to maintain Goods Inward Quality database.
- Check delivered, or other, parts against defined specifications.
- Administer Supplier Concern reporting system. Including raising, issuing, progressing and reviewing Supplier 8D reports.
- Conduct Supplier, and internal, Product & Process Audits as defined in schedules, or as required following non-conformity incidents.
- Manage Goods Inward Performance monitors, reporting effectiveness of system to Quality Manager
- Supporting the team - Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives, assist Supplier Quality Engineer and other personnel as required
- Knowledge of FMEA, Control Plan and 8D methodologies would be advantageous
- Some travel may be required within the defined Role
- Overtime working, as and when required, is expected
- Ensure all employees comply with the requirements of the Company Handbook
- Ensure all department procedures and SOP's are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in the department
- Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements
- Provide a courteous response to internal and external customer's requests and make every effort to respond quickly and efficiently. Clear verbal and written communication is required
- Ensure that all Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety legislation are adhered to
- Ensure all department procedures are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in the department
- Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements
- Demonstrate adherence to the Automotive 5s working philosophy

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Requirements:

- HND in engineering or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of Engineering Drawings and measuring equipment
- Minimum 3 years automotive background
- TS16949 Auditor qualified
- Root cause analysis, 8D problem solving ability, APQP trained
- Knowledge of FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, 8D methodologies
- General Design and Tolerance and Metal Forming processes knowledge
- Lean/Six Sigma background
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Good Computer literacy
