Business Development Director

My client are a digital agency with offices in London and Paris, specialising in the progressive areas of User Experience (UX) and Service Design. They are currently seeking a Business Development Director for their London office near Farringdon to report directly into the CEO, and who will have significant influence over the future shaping of the business. This person needs to be motivated, hands-on, high-energy, and most importantly be comfortable creating a new business strategy upon joining the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation - ensuring the delivery of a robust lead generation strategy, including identification of leads and directing and supporting others in the business where appropriate.
  • Conversion of new business - leading all new business opportunities for the business, including all commercial negotiations and handover/on-boarding to client services.
  • Contracts & Frameworks - leading and overseeing creation of procurement frameworks, RFI's, RFP's etc.
  • Company Health Check - ensuring data related to project delivery and commercial performance of new business are all correct, and when necessary working with the business to plan and drive any action required.


Qualities of an ideal candidate:

  • Previous consultancy/agency new business or account management experience.
  • Ability to generate and close new business opportunities.
  • Passion for customer-experience and related disciplines.
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, and positive mind-set with ability to lead by example.
  • Genuine interest for working in a fast-growing service design firm.
  • Team-player who can engage peers and colleagues.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written English, and ability to create pre-sales content using design software packages (InDesign, Keynote etc.)
