Job Title: Senior Environments Engineer

Work Location: Coventry, UK

Role Type: Permanent

Our client, UK’s leading financial institution are looking for a Senior Environments Engineer who is a highly experienced and self-motivating Environments Lead who has an expert knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle, modern testing methodologies and agile development practices. With a keen DevOps mindset, they will help delivery teams automate their environment requirements to facilitate each phase of the testing lifecycle.

With proven experience in automation and integration this key team player will help the company move forward in its plans to utilise cloud technologies to increase the efficiency of the SDLC and provide a truly modern approach to software development.

As a passionate advocate of modern, efficient product delivery this expert will share their knowledge and enthusiasm through coaching and mentoring to colleagues to meet the strategic goals within the Environments function and to support others to reach their potential.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience in configuring Windows Server based environments for in-flight project testing
  • Exposure to an eclectic mix of Microsoft and Linux based technology stacks
  • Highly tuned investigative & diagnostic skills
  • Ability to take ownership of a problem and coordinate across technical teams to resolution
  • Experience in IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, enhance, test, and deploy complicated integration software.
  • Deep understanding of the modern SDLC toolset (CI/CD)
  • Experience of supporting Microsoft .NET, IIS & SQLServer
  • Experience of Oracle Forms and RDBMS
  • Experience of Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures (governance)
