London - City

Are you interested in working for one of the fastest growing tech companies in the UK? Do you have a passion for technology and managing the customer experience and expectation? If so we have the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a new role and will bridge the gap between the business development team, and the technical experts. You'll be responsible for providing technical pre-sales expertise, customer bid-management, quoting, and contract documentation. You'll be inquisitive and a problem solver, and will always ask 'why', never accept the status-quo, and constantly seek to improve revenue. You'll need to be equally comfortable with senior customer stakeholders, as well as front-line end users.

The core of the business is that of a managed service provider for all voice and data solutions. They are becoming more and more of a SaaS business but what we are after is someone who has those all-round hosted voice and data technical skills, combined with the pre-sales exposure or ability to sit in high end customer meetings, alongside internal stakeholder meetings for both non and technical staff.

Following the business development team, you'll sit with the customer and build the technical solution, providing advice and ideas on what is best for them, alongside commercial reality that the proposed and design solution should be revenue generating for the company.

To give a quick synopsis, this is what you'll mainly be doing:

*Solution design for network, voice, and SaaS solutions. (Key is hosted voice and data within an managed service environment - Cisco or Juniper on Data, general VO/IP for voice.)
*Bill of material (including carrier quotations) and costs for customer proposals, including cost/margin analysis.
*Quotations for customer solutions.
*Sales and Service Order generation.
*Supplier management for optimal costs.
*Bid management for complex customer proposals.

We are not being specific on vendor but data environment tends to be Cisco and Juniper based, and the voice is VO/IP using a Broadsoft platform. The role reports to the COO, and he summed up the role as being someone who can demonstrate that all round technical savvy for managed voice and data, alongside the customer skills that will give the respect and credibility needed to act as technical authority in those early customer meetings, through to bid and tender support by way of solutions design and ensuring the associated margin is there.

It's a true technical pre-sales role calling for the assumed technology knowledge but also commercial savvy - and this is within a fast growth, tech track 100 company environment.

Who are the company?

A managed technology provider that is showing year on year growth, and probably our favourite customer to work with. The office in London has its own pub ( I mean a pub as well, not a shelf with some drinks like many companies claim to have - a proper pub that could be mistaken for an All Bar One and has a stage for a band along with numerous musical instruments and a top end PA system), pool table, table tennis, karaoke. They are based in the City and are close to Shoreditch so if you like having access to 50 different types of coffee bean within 100 yards of the office, this is the area for you. They are the main player in their market in the UK, and have opened offices in New York, with California to follow soon.

Your experience?
Ideally you'll come from a technical pre-sales role within a managed solutions environment and with this being a new role, will be someone who is looking to put their stamp on things and isn't looking for a large team, large company corporate mentality (Although this company has over 120 staff and is growing year on year). As mentioned, in depth design level experience for typical data and VO/IP solutions is what we need, but you are not just a techy, and need that customer savvy to engage from the early stage of the sales process and help the company provide best solution and service for what will often be, a complex or semi-bespoke solution.

You'll ideally have that bid and tender support background but also could be open to talking to people with the technical knowledge, commercial acumen and the potential to support bids.
