Senior Proposals Engineer / Proposals Manager

My client is one of the UK's leading MEICA contractors within the Water sector. They have released a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Proposals Engineer or Proposals Manager to join their team based in Bristol working on water projects.

The position

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for tenders from receipt to submission as an important part of the estimating team. Preparing of cost estimates for a variety of mechanical and electrical engineering works mainly within the water industry.

Your role will be to review tender documentation to determine and understand the conditions set out, quantifying the works involved and review commercial and technical risks to obtain the best solutions. You will take a lead role in the bid process to ensure the production of submission documents in a timely manner as well as convening the tender kick off meetings with key stakeholders.

Addressing key client requirements as well as expectations you will develop working relationships, engaging with the supply chain to highlight commercial opportunities and savings during the process. You will also liaise with construction teams to ensure output and resource data is collected for future tenders.
Part of your role will be to check and maintain controlled copy of tender documents and communications, risk reviews, preparation of subcontract and material enquiries and reviewing quotations. You will present commercial handovers to contract delivery teams and prepare commercial tenders for submission. This position offers high levels of responsibility and autonomy, ideal for senior engineers!

What you'll need

You will require:
-Industry relevant qualifications: ONC/ NVQ / HNC / Degree
-Commercially and contractually aware
-Experience with: Microsoft packages
-Proactive and excellent communicator
-Ability to demonstrate experience dealing with multiple forms of contract, clients and methods of measurement.
-Experience working within the water or wastewater sector is advantageous
