Network Operations Project Management for my UK & European client based in Cambridge (UK).

- £55,000-60,000 pa. salary (DOE), plus fantastic benefits and annual bonus!

- You will provide project management expertise to the Network Operations teams.

- You will be a key part of enabling GÉANT's overall mission to provide the high speed connectivity

needed by research and education communities across Europe.

- You will develop and maintain the new Project Management Framework, both via your own project management activities and contributions and under the guidance of the Head of Project Office.

- Working in a small team, you will have the opportunity to lead, challenge the status quo and ultimately be responsible for getting things done.

Qualifications, experience and knowledge

- Must have gained substantial experience of managing projects within an SME or business 'start-up' environment, where there is a need to 'roll your sleeves' up and get stuck in!

Experience working with and understanding of one or more of the following technology areas:

- Optical, IP Carrier Networking

- Optical & IP Vendor Equipment

- Operational tools and systems (OSS,BSS)

- Knowledge of the delivery of complex technical projects in a carrier or vendor environment

- Experience in working on matrix resourced projects.

- Educated to degree level, or equivalent in professional experience

- An understanding of the drivers for change, and the ability to design new processes and improve existing processes to increase operational efficiency

- An understanding of how operational experience can be translated into useful tools


- Delivering a variety of defined multi technology project in line with the Operations strategy

- Applying a best fit project management approach to working in the GEANT Operations environment and on various project types.

- Co-ordinating the efforts of team members and, where appropriate, third parties in order to deliver the project according to requirements

- Applying suitable time, quality, task, risk, issue and dependency management on all projects

- Close liaison with project team members and stakeholders on an on-going basis

- Work to identify where improvements can be made to accelerate projects or improve delivery quality.

- Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations as required by the PMO office or Operations.
