Lead Solutions Architect - Online

A client of mine is currently looking for a Lead Solutions Architect to join them on a full time permanent basis. Based in Central London, you will be leading and managing a fantastic team, designing systems and solutions that will affect millions of people on a daily basis.

The main purpose of your role will be to support the development and delivery of services and applications by leading a team of systems analysts and subject matter experts to help develop and maintain business capabilities in line with technology policies and principles as well as contributing to the long term business strategy and plans.

You will have a software development background and you will be comfortable architecting multi-platform application. Ideally, your experience will include time spent architecting extremely high traffic websites and/or mobile applications.

Key Duties:
  • Working close with the Enterprise Architect's to ensure developments and enhancements to the business services and apps are consistent and compliant with policies and principles
  • Leading a team of systems analysts and subject matter experts to support the delivery of new and upgraded services
  • Providing web and app technology software development technical expertise to the business, acting as the webmaster to oversee site technical quality.
  • Ensuring websites and apps are up to date with relevant best practice guidelines (e.g. accessibility guidelines).
  • Building relationships with key technology partners and with key suppliers.

Experience Required
  • Experience architecting cloud based solutions, AWS is preferred.
  • Experience building web based solutions.
  • Line Management Experience.
  • Language agnostic but experience in a Java or Opensource environment will be preferred
  • Experience in operating in an outsourced, multi-vendor environment is another nice to have
