Development Team Manager is required by highly buoyant Reigate based financial services organisation. This role will see you leading a team of software developers (.net Developers, CRM Microsoft Dynamics Developers and SharePoint Developers), you will be instrumental in building and delivering high quality business systems and applications supporting projects, business as usual, continuous improvement and small change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage a team of up to eight software developers. Provide direct line management, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed. Forging of an effective professional relationship with assigned team to increase productivity, maintain relationships and maximise overall quality.
  • To work with project stakeholders to establish a robust development approach. To work with project managers and business analysts to define, plan, develop, test and deliver business solutions to agreed standards, timetables and budgets
  • To create, develop and lead effective team with focus on quality supported by appropriate processes, controls and governance and to actively encourage continuous improvement in the delivery process.
  • To work with project teams to develop a resource plan that provides the skills and experiences that maximise the project team's ability to delivery successful outcomes; including the appropriate recruitment activities
  • To ensure that team and project-based documentation is up-to-date, accurate and sufficiently detailed
  • To take the Technical Lead role on projects where required, as well as working with Technical Leads to deliver solutions.

Key Requirements:
  • Significant experience and knowledge of Microsoft development, test and project technologies.
  • Proven technical leadership, thought leadership and line management of .net development team.
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics and SharePoint useful but not essential.
  • Experience with IT development processes and delivery lifecycles; development methodology; release strategy and configuration management; development tools, and applications across full project lifecycles.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment; delivering within defined Sprints; familiarity with Agile principles and ceremonies.
  • Experience and knowledge of Agile, XP and DevOps development and testing practises and techniques.
  • Significant experience of line management of teams including performance management, resource management and recruitment
  • Experience in planning and successfully delivering cross-business change projects involving IT change within the Financial Services Sector; working within a formal governance and control framework covering all aspects of project delivery.
