IT Support Engineer – Amersham

My client is currently going through an exciting period of growth and are looking to grow their team of IT Support Engineers. Successful candidates will join an established and skilled team who support a diverse client base, covering everything from desktop to server support, working on projects and providing an excellent level of client support. The successful candidates must have a high level of technical knowledge that covers 2nd and 3rd line support and be capable of multitasking and be prepared to adjust the work priorities to meet customers’ needs at short notice. My client offer great development possibilities and successful candidates will be given the opportunity to gain full Microsoft certification in the latest Microsoft server technologies.

Candidate skill set required

Providing remote access support and onsite supportExperience supporting Windows Servers 2003 / 2008 / 2012 / 2016 (installation, configuration and admin), with SBS 2011/2012 server is desirableExchange Server knowledge (2003/2007/2010/2013/2016)Virtualisation support experience (working with VMware and/or Hyper-V)Administration of Active DirectoryKnowledge of Network support (both LAN and WAN)Installing and configuring Desktop PCs, Laptops, Printers and other computer hardwareExperience with Citrix XenApp is highly desirableCandidate Requirements

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in supporting Microsoft technologies and networks both in terms of hardware and software (at 2nd and 3rd line level)Qualifications: Ideally MCPs or other Microsoft Certification (MSCE or MCITP), and any Cisco qualification desirableTo be friendly and personable with strong customer serviceTo have very good presentation skillsTo have demonstrated the ability to learn quicklyMust own a car with valid car insurance and clean valid driving licenseTo have a desired goal of reaching a more qualified technical level as opposed to a higher management positionBe presentable and must speak and communicate clearly as he/she will be attending customers’ sites, communicating with all levels of staff within customers’ companies up to and including Director Level.
